I love to read all types of books, but I've never been drawn to choose one with a demon as leading man. But I was intrigued, thinking I would buy the first one and then I'd only be out a few dollars if it wasn't my style.

I ended up buying all three, one after the other, and I read the entire series over a five day period. I was drawn into the story of how a demon finds grace, of how good can win, that the bad we see in our world can be overcome.

The story is beautifully written, the descriptions of characters and locations so well crafted that I often felt I could see it or was there. That same descriptive writing gave me chills as well, there are demons in this book after all, the descriptive writing made the evil very real too. Chillingly real. I still think about it at time. I think a good book haunts you in that way.

With all of that said, I really loved this trilogy. I'm very glad I stepped outside of my normal reading patterns and added them to my collection.

I completely lost interest after 50 pages. I just felt like the target audience were kids and the plot was too predictable.
Not only is The Demon Calumnius well written and enjoyable, the premise of this series is incredibly intriguing. In this first book of the series, we meet a conflicted hero - who just happens to be a demon in the employ of Satan. As the story unfolds, the demon is awakened to all kinds of new emotions that cause him to question his entire being. Add in a love interest and this story sizzles. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Simply amazing perspective. Hopeful. Appealed to my love of history. Insightful. Forces you to look at yourself from the outside.
Fun read
This is a very interesting book. I love the depth of it and the wonderful descriptions of the characters and locations. I don't fully believe in the theology the book is based on but it's just a fiction book to enjoy. I like the perspective of the fallen angels, much like what CS Lewis did. It does have some crude parts but our world is filled with evil and crudeness. I fully enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Not enough of a supernatural element for me. I got nothing bad to say. Good writing, good story if you like people. Just not for me.
